A seductive, warm, and beautifully acted Nutley classic.

Highly commendable performances by the three lead actors. A Colin Nutley classic to enjoy! The cinematography is handled by the skilled Jens Fischer. The film is seductive, warm, and exceptionally well-played.

Farmer Olof (Rolf Lassgård) hires Ellen (Helena Bergström) as a housekeeper. Olof’s entire existence is "turned upside down." He falls helplessly in love with the wonderful and domestic Ellen, who in no time at all creates a sense of comfort in the home and fills his days with happiness. Olof has an assistant on the farm, Erik (Johan Widerberg), who feels his position is threatened.
